6 Massive Reasons Standard Lithium Stock Popped 33% in August
Standard Lithium (SLI) surged 33% in August on a cascade of project milestones that moved the company closer to production. The Department of Energy issued environmental clearance for its Arkansas lithium project, enabling SLI to sign construction contracts and advance toward a Final Investment Decision.
The company secured a binding offtake agreement with LG Energy Solution for 8,000 metric tonnes of lithium carbonate annually, adding a second anchor customer to its roster. SLI also confirmed its lithium carbonate output meets battery-grade standards, a critical qualifier for offtake deals in the EV supply chain.
Additional momentum came from a second project filing in Texas, expanding the company's asset base beyond Arkansas. SLI closed August with $137 million in cash, positioning it to fund construction and reach FID without immediate dilution risk.
The combination of regulatory clearance, construction progress, offtake contracts, and capital on hand marks a transition from development-stage risk to near-term production visibility.
