As Revenue Surges 400%, Is Applied Digital Stock a Buy?
Applied Digital reported Q4 revenue of $258.7 million, up 407% year-over-year, driven primarily by tenant fit-out services for CoreWeave, a major AI infrastructure customer. The company projects a $1 billion net operating income run rate within the next twelve months and holds $36 billion in contracted lease value tied to AI data center demand.
The growth comes with significant risk exposure. Applied Digital carries $5 billion in debt and posted negative free cash flow of $2.8 billion. The reliance on CoreWeave as a primary revenue driver concentrates customer risk at a time when AI infrastructure buildout remains speculative despite robust near-term demand.
Analysts frame APDS as a leveraged bet on AI infrastructure expansion. The contracted lease pipeline provides visibility, but the capital-intensive business model and single-customer concentration leave little room for execution missteps or slowdowns in AI spending. The stock appeals to investors willing to stomach balance sheet risk in exchange for exposure to accelerating data center demand.
