Bloom Energy Raised Its 2026 Forecast for the Third Time. Is the Stock a Buy More Than a Third Below Its Record?
BE dropped 9% even after Bloom Energy raised its 2026 revenue forecast to $4.4-4.6 billion, its third raise this year. The market looked past a record quarter and focused on cash flow.
Q3 revenue hit a record $1.24 billion, up 138% year over year, and adjusted EPS more than doubled. The sell-off traces to the cash side of the ledger: operating cash flow turned negative at $27 million, and free cash flow came in at negative $181 million. Unbilled contract assets surged to $793 million, which suggests (interpretation, not reported fact) that revenue is being recognized faster than cash is collected.
The balance sheet offers a cushion. BE holds $2.5 billion in cash. On valuation, the analyst cited in the piece notes shares trade at 67x forward earnings, versus 170x at the June peak, and the stock sits more than a third below its record. His stance is cautious accumulation, contingent on better cash collection.
