Corning Rides on Expanding Partner Base: Will it Boost Prospects?
Corning has secured multibillion-dollar agreements with Meta, Amazon, NVIDIA, and Verizon to supply AI infrastructure, the company announced. GLW will increase U.S. optical-connectivity capacity tenfold and expand fiber production by more than 50% to meet AI data center buildout demand.
The deals position GLW as a direct supplier to hyperscalers racing to deploy AI computing clusters. Meta, Amazon, and NVIDIA are among the largest buyers of data center infrastructure globally, and Verizon's network densification requires high-capacity fiber for 5G backhaul and edge computing.
The capacity expansion represents a material capital commitment by GLW, though the company has not disclosed the revenue timeline or phasing of deployments. Growth depends on customer capex cycles and the pace at which AI workloads translate into infrastructure spend.
GLW shares have tracked broader volatility in AI infrastructure stocks, with investor focus on order conversion rates and margin profiles on hyperscale contracts.
