Eldorado Gold’s 2027 Outlook: Two New Mines Turning On at Once, With 40% Production Growth Guided
Eldorado Gold (EGO) is guiding for roughly 40% gold production growth in 2027 as two major mines, Skouries in Greece and McIlvenna Bay in Saskatchewan, come online at the same time.
The growth story rests on a solid base. EGO delivered 40% revenue growth in fiscal 2025 with 41% operating margins, a combination that shows the existing operations are generating strong profitability heading into the build-out.
The cost of that build-out is visible in the cash flow statement. Free cash flow sits at negative $195 million, driven by heavy capital expenditures and overruns on past projects. The spending has already hit the balance sheet; the payoff depends on the 2027 ramp.
Valuation looks modest on its face. EGO trades at a P/E of 10.07. Interpretation: that multiple suggests the market is not paying a premium for the 40% growth guide, but the discount likely reflects execution risk, since the low multiple only holds up if both projects deliver on schedule and on budget.
Starting two mines in the same year concentrates risk. A delay at either Skouries or McIlvenna Bay would cut into the production target while negative free cash flow keeps pressure on the financials.
