Elon Musk Has Incredible News for Micron Stock Investors

Micron (MU) jumped more than 5% after Elon Musk posted on X that humanoid robots will require massive amounts of DRAM memory, putting a physical-AI demand story squarely in front of memory investors.

The numbers behind the move are concrete. Counterpoint Research projects DRAM demand from humanoids could rise 21x between 2026 and 2030, with memory content per unit climbing from 19GB to 39GB. For scale, Tesla's (TSLA) Optimus robots use 72-144GB of memory, well above those averages.

Goldman Sachs (GS) adds the volume layer, forecasting humanoid robot shipments could reach 6.5 million units by 2035, generating $138 billion in revenue. Interpretation: if shipments scale anywhere near that path, per-unit memory content multiplies the demand effect rather than merely adding to it.

Valuation is part of the pitch. Analysts cited in the piece point to MU trading at 13x earnings against expected EPS growth of 133%, a combination they call attractive.
