ImmuCell Stock Falls 8.8% Despite Y/Y Earnings & Sales Growth in Q2
ICCC shares dropped 8.8% following second-quarter results that showed conflicting signals despite top-line growth. The company posted earnings of 20 cents per share, up from 6 cents in the prior-year quarter, while product sales climbed 11.5% year-over-year to $7.19 million.
The selloff centered on a sharp margin contraction. Gross margin fell to 33.9% from 43.7% a year earlier, pressured by lower production volumes, material quality issues, and cost reclassifications. Domestic sales surged 27.7%, and management reported market share gains for First Defense, but international headwinds and manufacturing challenges offset the positive momentum.
ICCC is deploying $8 million into facility expansion designed to triple production capacity by the end of 2027. The investment addresses current manufacturing constraints but won't deliver near-term margin relief.
