Is Apple Stock a Buy Right Now?
Apple (AAPL) has climbed 24% this year as investors rotated out of aggressive AI plays and into steadier tech names, and the company just backed that move with record numbers.
Apple posted record quarterly revenue of $114 billion, record iPhone sales, and all-time high services revenue. That combination of hardware strength and recurring services income is what the rotation thesis rests on. Interpretation: the market is paying for predictability, not just growth.
The product pipeline adds a holiday-season angle. Apple is expected to launch a foldable iPhone Duo, a touchscreen MacBook, and a HomeView smart display, any of which could drive demand into the fourth quarter.
The soft spot is margins. Gross margin forecasts disappointed slightly because of higher memory costs. Apple still has pricing power on its side: more than 90% of U.S. iPhone users plan to stay with the platform, and new leadership is focused on hardware innovation.
Valuation is the tension. At 35x forward earnings, AAPL already prices in much of the good news. Interpretation: the multiple leaves less room for a margin miss than a cheaper entry would.
