Novartis' Remibrutinib Delivers Positive Results in Late-Stage MS Studies
Novartis (NVS) shares jumped 6% after the company reported positive top-line results from its Phase III REMODEL-1 and REMODEL-2 studies of remibrutinib in relapsing multiple sclerosis. The investigational BTK inhibitor significantly reduced annualized relapse rates compared to Aubagio, Sanofi's established MS therapy, and also reduced inflammatory brain lesions while maintaining a favorable safety profile across both trials.
Novartis plans to submit regulatory filings globally and will present the full dataset at MSToronto2026. The BTK inhibitor class has attracted intense interest as a next-generation MS approach, and remibrutinib's performance against an active comparator strengthens its commercial potential in a crowded but lucrative market.
The data de-risks a key pipeline asset for NVS, which has been building its neuroscience franchise following recent setbacks in other therapeutic areas. The stock's 6% gain reflects investor confidence in remibrutinib's path to approval and competitive positioning.
