Nvidia Reportedly Just Landed $35 Billion In Chip Orders From Chinese Companies. Here's Why That Could Be Great News for the Stock

Nvidia (NVDA) has reportedly booked $35 billion in chip orders from Chinese buyers, covering more than 3 million Blackwell chips. Named customers include ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent (TCEHY).

The orders matter because Chinese sales were not factored into NVDA's guidance. Any China revenue that actually ships would therefore land as upside to current expectations.

The catch is supply. Reuters reports NVDA may fulfill only 5-10% of the orders, a limit tied to global production capacity of 3 million chips in 2027. Applying that range to the reported $35 billion order book implies roughly $1.75 billion to $3.5 billion in fillable business. That math is interpretation, not a reported figure.

The report also points to regulatory limits on these sales, which add a second layer of uncertainty beyond capacity.

A further interpretation: with demand reportedly exceeding available supply many times over, the constraint on NVDA is production, not buyer appetite. Chinese buyers competing for scarce Blackwell output could also compete with existing customers for the same chips. The article does not say how NVDA would allocate supply, so that remains an open question.

Alibaba is listed under BBAAY, and Tencent under TCEHY, giving traders adjacent exposure to the buyers behind the orders.
