Oil Prices Rise as U.S.-Iran Talks Remain Uncertain
Oil prices climbed Tuesday as traders weighed stalled U.S.-Iran ceasefire negotiations against improving supply conditions in the Middle East. Front-month November Brent crude futures advanced 1.4%, matching the 1.4% gain in West Texas Intermediate.
The rally came amid conflicting signals on Middle Eastern supply. Uncertainty around diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran—a potential catalyst for Iranian crude returning to global markets—supported prices. At the same time, traders monitored the recovery of crude flows in the region and the restart of Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, factors that typically weigh on sentiment.
The East-West pipeline, which carries Saudi crude across the kingdom from eastern oil fields to Red Sea export terminals, had been offline. Its return to operation adds logistical flexibility for Saudi exports at a time when geopolitical risk premiums remain elevated due to the unresolved U.S.-Iran negotiations.
