Overnight Pulse

Risk-on tilt with a hard bid in metals and softness in crude — equities, gold, and silver all green into the US open.

Asia & Europe

Europe is doing the heavy lifting this morning. The FTSE 100 closed +0.74% at 10,535.94 and the Euro Stoxx 50 led regional tape at +0.90% to 6,181.86. The DAX was a sleeper at -0.11% (25,075.73), lagging the continent. Asia was mixed-to-firm: Hang Seng +0.34% (24,211.35), Nikkei 225 essentially unchanged at 69,030.92 (-0.02%). The read-through: European risk appetite is intact and the Asian handoff gave the US no reason to flinch. Combined with gold ripping to $4,208.80 (+1.25%) and silver +1.94% to $60.58, there's a dual bid — risk assets AND hard assets — which typically reads as liquidity-driven rather than defensive.

US Futures Setup

Futures are higher across the board, led by tech. ES 7,844.75 (+0.36%), NQ 31,206.5 (+0.77%), YM 51,538 (+0.09%), RTY 2,817 (+0.26%). The Nasdaq-Dow spread tells the story — this is a semis-and-megacap bid, not a broad-cycle move. Crude is leaking (WTI $90.61, -0.96%; Brent $102.86, -1.36%), which pulls one tailwind out from under energy names but removes an inflation headwind from the growth complex. Precious metals ripping alongside equity futures is the unusual signature here. Bias into the open: constructive but concentrated.

Names to Watch

  • ▸$NVDA $234.90 (+1.91%) and $AMD $631.50 (+1.74%) — semis leading the pre-bell bid; watch for continuation or fade on the cash open given thin pre-open volume.
  • ▸$AAPL $333.88 (-1.92%) — the lone megacap red mark and the only meaningful drag on the Dow setup. Needs a reason; no catalyst in the overnight tape.
  • ▸$MSFT $528 (+1.03%) and $META $723.34 (+0.34%) — participating but not leading; MSFT is the cleaner tell for mega-cap tech health.
  • ▸$COIN $175.71 (+2.16%) — bid despite BTC flat at $82,610 and ETH -2.25%. Divergence worth monitoring.
  • ▸$GLD $383.58 (+1.31%) — gold ETF tracking the futures move; precious-metals complex is the tape's loudest signal this morning.

The Setup

$SPY $777.13 pre-market, prior close $773.93. Key levels to watch at the bell: $777–778 as immediate resistance (pre-market high zone), $774 as the pivot back to prior close, and $770 as the first downside shelf if the open fades. Thesis: with NQ outpacing YM by 7-to-1 on the percentage, the path of least resistance is a tech-led gap-and-go — but single-name moves on light pre-open tape can reverse quickly, so the first 30 minutes defines whether the semis bid holds or hands back.
