President Trump Says U.S. Regulators Are About to Give the Green Light to Hyperliquid. Is It Finally Time to Believe the Hype About HYPE?
President Trump announced CFTC Chairman Mike Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid's HYPE token into the U.S. market as a fully compliant cryptocurrency. Hyperliquid operates as a Layer-1 blockchain and decentralized exchange capable of processing up to 200,000 orders per second, substantially outpacing Ethereum's throughput.
The platform has expanded its value proposition through $180 million in annual buybacks, institutional capital inflows, and ecosystem additions including prediction markets and tokenized real-world assets. The regulatory green light would mark a significant shift for a decentralized exchange operating at scale, potentially opening access to U.S. retail and institutional participants currently restricted from trading the token.
Hyperliquid's technical infrastructure positions it as a high-speed alternative to traditional Layer-1 networks, with order processing capacity that dwarfs legacy blockchain networks. The combination of regulatory approval and existing buyback programs could catalyze demand from traders previously sidelined by compliance concerns.
