This Nuclear Stock Just Dropped Nearly 46% -- Screaming Buy or Warning Sign?
Oklo has crashed 46% year-to-date and 80% from its October peak, even as the advanced nuclear power company's operating fundamentals improve. The stock now trades well off its previous valuation levels that made the decline "not entirely unwarranted," according to a Motley Fool analysis.
The company has assembled a project pipeline exceeding 14 gigawatts and recently received Department of Energy authorization to load fuel into its Groves Reactor, a key regulatory milestone. Oklo holds $2.6 billion in liquid assets on its balance sheet and is led by MIT-trained executives positioning the firm to capitalize on federal policy support for nuclear power in AI data center applications.
The steep drawdown appears driven primarily by valuation compression rather than operational setbacks. The company continues to advance its reactor technology while building out commercial partnerships, but the stock had run to levels that left little room for execution risk.
