Why Abercrombie & Fitch Stock Skyrocketed This Week

Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) rallied 36.2% this week after fiscal Q2 earnings crushed expectations. The apparel retailer posted adjusted earnings of $4.17 per share, beating the Street by $2.21. Revenue climbed 5% to $1.27 billion, driven by what management called record performance from both the Abercrombie and Hollister brands.

The quarter also benefited from tariff refunds, though the company did not quantify the impact. Management raised its full-year outlook, projecting 5% sales growth and operating margins between 14.5% and 15%. The company also authorized a $500 million share buyback program.

The guidance marks a continuation of ANF's turnaround, which has seen the brand pivot from mall staple to a higher-margin, digital-first model. The combination of earnings momentum and aggressive capital return fueled the week's surge.
