Why Eli Lilly Stock Jumped to a New All-Time High Today

Eli Lilly (LLY) hit an all-time high Monday after two catalysts expanded its commercial footprint. The European Medicines Agency issued a positive opinion for Jaypirca, the company's cancer drug targeting chronic lymphocytic leukemia, moving the treatment closer to EU approval. Separately, Lilly announced that obesity drugs Zepbound and Foundayo will be available through Medicare's GLP-1 Bridge program starting July 1 at $50 per month, opening access to approximately 20 million Medicare patients.

The Medicare announcement addresses a key reimbursement hurdle. At $50 monthly, the drugs become affordable for seniors previously priced out of GLP-1 therapies, which typically cost hundreds of dollars per month without coverage. The 20 million patient pool represents substantial revenue potential in a market where Lilly has competed aggressively with Novo Nordisk for obesity and diabetes share.

The Jaypirca opinion in Europe adds geographic reach to a drug already approved in the U.S., diversifying oncology revenue streams beyond Lilly's blockbuster metabolic franchise.
