Why HIVE Stock Popped Today
HIVE Digital Technologies' BUZZ HPC subsidiary secured a $350 million, five-year AI cloud services contract with an investment-grade enterprise customer, sending HIVE shares up 14.13%. The deal centers on delivery of 2,016 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs dedicated to AI model training and inference workloads.
BUZZ HPC expects the contract to generate $70 million in annualized revenue, bringing the subsidiary's total projected revenue to $180 million. The facility will run on renewable hydroelectric power and utilize advanced cooling infrastructure to support the GPU deployment.
The agreement marks a significant commercial validation for HIVE's pivot into AI infrastructure. Nvidia's Blackwell Ultra GPUs represent the chipmaker's latest high-performance architecture designed specifically for large-scale AI training and inference tasks. The five-year duration provides HIVE with revenue visibility through 2030, while the investment-grade customer designation suggests lower counterparty risk than typical crypto-mining contracts that previously dominated HIVE's business model.
