Why Lucid Group Stock Is Moving in Reverse Today

LCID dropped 9.4% after RBC Capital cut its price target from $7 to $4, a level that implies just 5.5% upside from where the stock now trades.

The reduction is steep: RBC removed $3 from its target, a 43% cut. Even after the pullback, the new $4 target leaves little room above the current price, which suggests the firm sees the stock as roughly fairly valued at depressed levels rather than as a rebound candidate (this is interpretation, not a stated RBC view).

The fundamental backdrop explains the pressure. Lucid reported declining production and delivery numbers in Q3 2026 compared with the prior year. Falling volume is a direct hit to the top-line story that bulls need to see improve.

Management is pointing to an "operating reset" targeting $1.4 billion in cash flow improvements for 2026. That figure is large relative to the stock's depressed price, but investors are holding back until results show up in reported numbers. The market is effectively saying the plan is a promise, not yet a fact.

Interpretation: the combination of a sharply lower analyst target and shrinking deliveries gives sellers a clear narrative, while the reset plan gives buyers a reason to wait rather than chase.
