Why Micron Stock Bounced Back Today
Micron Technology rallied 4.3% Monday, snapping a three-day losing streak as Wall Street analysts framed the recent pullback as a buying opportunity. Morgan Stanley's Joseph Moore highlighted ongoing memory chip shortages and projected 25% price increases in the third quarter as catalysts for the chipmaker's recovery.
UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri delivered an even more bullish long-term thesis, forecasting Micron will generate up to $400 billion in free cash flow through 2028. He expects the company to deploy roughly 40% of that toward buybacks, which could nearly double earnings per share over the period.
The dual analyst support comes as memory chip pricing remains a key variable for Micron's margins. Moore's Q3 pricing forecast points to near-term tailwinds, while Arcuri's multi-year cash flow projection underscores confidence in sustained demand for DRAM and NAND products across data centers and artificial intelligence applications.
