Why Vicor Stock Was Crushing it This Week
Vicor raised its Q3 sequential revenue growth guidance from approximately 10% to over 20% this week, driving shares up nearly 24%. The power components supplier attributed the upgrade to royalty income from non-exclusive licenses of its vertical power delivery technology, which it has granted to four leading original equipment manufacturers and hyperscalers. The licensing revenue carries high margins and is accelerating growth for the company, which supplies power components used in AI deployments.
The guidance revision represents a substantial increase above the company's initial expectations, more than doubling the sequential growth rate projected for the quarter. Vicor's vertical power delivery technology licenses are now generating material revenue contribution from major industry players deploying AI infrastructure.
